Never A Hero are a 5 piece band based in the UK. They combine elements of Metal, Pop, Dubstep and Classical. Their material has featured on Kerrang and Scuzz.
Josh came to us for an instrument with real tonal complexity and clarity, but which he could play every day and would withstand the rigours of a hectic touring schedule.
We immediately settled on a classic flame maple/mahogany pairing for the body, but chose a carbon reinforced wenge/maple neck and ziricote fretboard to compliment it. This provided a friction-free playing surface on both the front and back of the neck with more warmth than ebony, and superior strength and stiffness to a maple or mahogany neck.
Bare Knuckle had just released their Black Hawk Humbuckers, which are built using a pair of rail magnets instead of traditional poles for intense clarity and punch so we chose these to play off against the warmth of the mahogany body. The results were fantastic.
The guitar is finished in our ultraviolet burst with a PRS style binding and hand rubbed oil/wax.
